Rev. Fr. Vincent Donovan, in his book Christianity Rediscovered, offered a fascinating testimony, an exemplary experience as missionary among those who did not have the chance to hear the Christian Gospel, following our Lord Jesus Christ’s command: „Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world” (Matthew 28, 19-20).
Throughout the ten chapters of his book, Fr. Donovan described his experiences of primary evangelization among the Masai of Northern Tanzania. His experience among these people forced him to a fresh reading of the Bible, especially the New Testament, a reexamination of his suppositions, a reshaping of his missionary method, an alteration of his expectations and a clear understanding regarding what the mission truly means.
