Abstract: Patriarhia Română a organizat, în perioada 15 iulie – 27 octombrie 2021, cea de a XIII‑a ediţie a Concursului naţional de muzică bisericească „Lăudaţi pe Domnul!”. La începutul lunii octombrie, lucrările înscrise în concurs au fost evaluate și rezultatele au fost anunțate. Festivitatea de premiere a câștigătorilor s-a desfășurat în Aula Magna „Teoctist Patriarhul” a Palatului Patriarhiei, în data de 22 octombrie, cu participare restrânsă, pentru a adapta ediția actuală la situația epidemiologică.

Summary:The winners’ prize-award festivity took place in “Teoctist the Patriarch” Aula Magna of the Palace of the Patriarchate, on the 22nd of October 2021, with restricted participation, in order to adapt the actual edition to the epidemiological situation. The ceremony was broadcast by Trinitas radio and Tv of the Romanian Patriarchate and was presented by the actors Manuela Hărăbor and Silviu Biriș. Musical recitals were given by “Psalmodia” Chorus of the National Music University of Bucharest and “Symbol-Jean Lupu” Chorus of children and youth of the Romanian Patriarchate. The musical moments were followed by the announcing of the prize winners in the Section of Interpretation, made by Father Nicușor Beldiman, patriarchal counsellor. They were conferred the Diploma “2021 – the Homage Year of the Pastoral Activity of the Romanians from Outside Romania”, with commemorative medal. On account of the epidemiological situation, the prize is to be sent to eparchies and given as part of limited events organized at the eparchial Centers that the winners belong it. The Diploma of the Homage Year 2021 with medal was also conferred to “Psalmodia” and “Symbol” invited choruses. The composers were awarded the diploma of the festival-contest and rewarded with books and money. The winning works will be published in the central Church reviews and posted on the site of the Romanian Patriarchate. His Grace Father Varlaam Ploieșteanul, honorary chairman of the jury, awarded the prizes for the Composition Section. By way of conclusion, the Patriarchal Vicar-Bishop read out His Beatitude Father Daniel’s message addressed to the national festival-contest of this year. Within the context of the Homage Year of the Pastoral Activity of the Romanians from Outside Romania, choral ensembles from Romanian parishes from outside Romania went in for the competition (the Republic of Moldova, Italy, France and Austria). “In an extremely difficult period regarding the health and the value of life, which urges us to turn pain into hope, and isolation into wish for more communion among men, the 13th edition of the National Festival-Contest of Church music Praise the Lord! has a mind to intensify the communion with the Romanians from the country and abroad through the agency of the church music… It is remarkable and appreciable the effort of the servants of the Holy Altars, the conductors and the members of the choruses from these parishes to keep and cultivate the Romanian spiritual, cultural and specific values through the agency of the church music”, conveyed the Patriarch of Romania about the choruses from the diaspora.
