Abstract: On September 29, 2022, the meeting of setting up the new Church National Assembly for the period 2022-2026 took place at the Palace of the Patriarchate of Bucharest under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Father Patriarch Daniel. This event was preceded by the Te Deum service officiated in the “Europa Christiana” Hall of the Palace of the Patriarchate by His Grace Father Ieronim, the Bishop of Dacia Felix.
În data de 29 septembrie 2022, la Palatul Patriarhiei din București, sub președinția Preafericitului Părinte Patriarh Daniel, a avut loc ședința de constituire a noii Adunări Naționale Bisericești, pentru perioada 2022-2026. Evenimentul a fost precedat de slujba de Te Deum, oficiată, în Sala Europa Christiana a Palatului Patriarhiei, de Preasfințitul Părinte Ieronim, Episcopul Daciei Felix.

Summary: On September 29, 2022, the meeting of setting up the new Church National Assembly for the period 2022-2023 took place at the Patriarchal Palace of Bucharest. Within the frame of this meeting, presided by His Beatitude Father Patriarch Daniel, were validated the mandates of the representatives, clergymen and laymen of the eparchies of the Romanian Orthodox Church of this central deliberative organism. Before the opening of the meeting, in the “Europa Christiana” Hall of the Patriarchal Palace, His Grace Father Ieronim, the Bishop of Dacia Felix, officiated a Te Deum service in the presence of the hierarchs of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church. After approving the permanent work committees of the Church National Assembly for the four years and choosing the members of the Church National Council, central executive organism of the Holy Synod and of the Church National Assembly, composed by 12 members, one clergyman and one layman, representing each metropolis of the country, followed a session of the debates and taking of the floor within the framework of which the chosen members showed their gratitude and hope that, in these four years, they would be useful to the Church and the Romanian society. In the end, the Patriarch of Romania thanked the hierarchs’ members of the Holy Synod, the chosen priests, deacons and faithful layman and declared the meeting of the Church National Assembly to be closed. The Church National Assembly is the central deliberative organism of the Romanian Orthodox Church for the administrative, social, cultural, economic and patrimonial problems composed by three representatives of each eparchy and two laymen delegated by the eparchial assemblies for four years’ period of time.
