Abstract: Desfășurată în perioada 30 octombrie – 1 noiembrie 2014 la Salonic, cu binecuvântarea Înaltpreasfințitului Mitropolit Antim al Salonicului, Conferința internațională de Muzicologie intitulată „Muzica bizantină după noua scriere (Sistemă). Introducere – Dezbateri – Perspective”, a reunit la Centrul de Conferințe Vellidio, profesori de seamă ai Universităților de Muzică din Atena și Salonic. În cadrul evenimentului au fost prezentate lucrări științifice ale muzicologilor și cercetătorilor de psalmodie din Grecia dar și din străinătate, urmate de momente de interpretare psaltică. Corul psaltic Tronos al Catedralei Patriarhale, condus de Arhidiaconul Mihail Bucă, cu binecuvântarea Preafericitului Părinte Patriarh Daniel, a răspuns invitației Mănăstirii Vatoped, de a concerta în cadrul Conferinței. Artizanii Reformei au reușit să redea destul de fidel vechea notație, și să conserve bogata tradiție a muzicii noastre psaltice într-un mod în care poate fi înțeleasă și de omul contemporan. Au elaborat teoria muzicii psaltice destul de concentrat (cu anumite pierderi, desigur), grăbind, astfel, timpul învățării notației muzicale. Reforma celor trei dascăli – Chrisant de Madyt, Grigorie Protopsaltul și Hurmuz Hartofilax – reprezintă o piatră de hotar în istoria muzicii grecești și muzicii bisericești și laice din Răsărit, în general. Aceasta este punctul de referință pentru studiul și cercetarea, predarea și transmiterea bogăției melodice a muzicii bizantine.

Summary: Taking place between the 30th of October and the 1st of November 2014, in Thessaloniki, with the blessing of His Eminence Anthimos, Metropolitan of Thessaloniki, there proceeded the International Conference of Musicology headed “The Byzantine music according to the new musical notation (Systema). Introduction – Debates – Perspectives”, which gathered at Vellidio Conference Centre distinguished professors from the Universities of Music of Athens and Thessaloniki. Within the frame of this event, there were presented scientific papers of the musicologists and researchers in Psalmody from Greece and abroad, followed by moments of psalmody performance. The Thronos psalmody choir of the Patriarchal Cathedral, conducted by Archdeacon Mihail Bucă, with His Beatitude Father Patriarch Daniel’s blessing, answered the invitation of Vatopedi Monastery to give concerts within the frame of the Conference. The artisans of the Reform succeeded in reproducing faithfully enough the former notation, and thereby preserving the rich musical tradition of our psalmody music, in a way that can be also understood by the contemporary man. They elaborated the psalmody music theory in a rather too concentrated manner, thereby’ speeding up the learning of the musical notation. The Reform of the three teachers – Chrysanthos of Madyt, Gregory the Protopsalte and Hurmuz Chartofilax – is a landmark in the history of the Greek music and religious and secular music of the East. This is the reference point for the study, investigation, teaching and dissemination of the melodic profusion of Byzantine music.
